Good afternoon,
My tip I am
sharing with you today is.......anxiety.
We all experience occasional feelings of anxiety, worry and fear this is totally normal. If you have an anxiety disorder, these feelings are more noticeable and difficult
to live with. They can make you feel as though things are worse than they actually are.
What are anxiety disorders?
Symptoms of anxiety include:
Feelings of dread, panic or impending
doom.
Feeling on edge or irritable.
Heightened alertness.
Difficulties sleeping.
Changes in appetite.
Difficulties concentrating.
Depersonalisation and wanting to escape from the situation you are in.
You might also experience physical symptoms, which can include:
Sweating.
Heavy and fast breathing.
Hot flushes or blushing.
Dry mouth.
Shaking.
Hair loss.
Fast heartbeat.
Dizziness and fainting.
Irritable bowel syndrome
(IBS), stomach aches and sickness.
There are so many foods that help anxiety, but also that contribute to it and it is all about knowing what is going to HELP you.
So what foods are best and worst for anxiety?
AVOID at all costs:
Processed foods, fried foods, high glycemic carbs, unrefined sugars, coffee and alcoholic beverages.
DO EAT:
Magnesium rich foods, blueberries, almonds,
anything with magnesium, vitamin B12 (and other B vitamins), zinc, and antioxidants can be beneficial for helping you deal with stress and anxiety. Green vegetables, good fats, lean protein.
Have you tried Meditation?
There is an an app called Headspace. You meditate for 10 minutes and find a time
suitable for you.
Anxiety is so very common these days and getting your nutrition on point can really help.
Have you tried Yoga? It is an exercise that focuses on breathing, stretching and relaxing. Many doctors believe it
can help with symptoms of anxiety. It does this by reducing the level of stress hormone in the body and helping people feel calm. I started Yoga last August and love it.
If you would like to attend a Yoga session on a Monday evening with Ali, 6.55 pm for FREE at the Torkington Centre, Hazel Grove, get in touch.
Let me know if any of this helps in any way 😁
As usual would love your thoughts. 😀
Have a good weekend.
