Good morning,
My tip for you today…..tips to balance
hormones.
When it comes to health, hormones and gut bacteria have a much bigger effect than many people realise. These two factors can destroy health even if everything else (diet, supplements, etc) is
optimised.
Fixing hormones and gut bacteria can do a lot to boost health. If you have symptoms like fatigue, skin issues, weight gain, weight around the middle, trouble sleeping, always sleeping, PMS, endometriosis,
infertility, PCOS or other issues, chances are you have hormone imbalance!
What are Hormones?
“Hormones are your body’s chemical messengers. They travel in your
bloodstream to tissues or organs. They work slowly, over time, and affect many different processes, including
Growth and development
Metabolism – how your body gets energy from the foods you eat
Sexual function
Reproduction
Mood
Endocrine glands, which are special groups of cells, make hormones. Men produce hormones in their testes and
women produce them in their ovaries.
Hormones are produced using good fats and cholesterol, so lack of these important dietary factors can cause hormone problems simply because the body doesn’t have the building blocks to make them. Toxins containing
chemicals that mimic these building blocks or that mimic the hormones themselves are also problematic because the body can attempt to create hormones using the wrong building blocks.Do you recognise the times when you are usually after a
pick-me-up? Do you always have/want a morning or afternoon snack? For me it is normally the afternoon. Why not swap your biscuits for some apple slices with peanut or almond butter?
Do you like to sweeten your tea? Trade sugar for
honey. My first hot drink in a morning was a hot water with a slice of lemon but I cannot have lemons due to my reflux so I am having manuka honey instead which is also good for soothing your throat.
Do you love a takeaway pizza? Why not make your
own from scratch and know exactly what is going into it – it will be miles healthier! If you have children, this is something you can do with them.
Calorie for calorie you might find that your healthier swaps are similar - an example is the Forever Lite Ultra smoothie vanilla flavour I make and a chocolate bar. They will come out roughly the same in a calorie count – but the nutrients are incomparable; let’s face it, you know which one will make you feel fuller for longer and nourish your body
better.
Let me know if any of this helps in any way 😁
As usual would love your thoughts. 😀
Have a good weekend.
Paula ❤️xx
