Yesterday was the longest day of the year as the summer solstice had arrived. In my Pilates class I gave a
Summer Solstice Meditation.
I thought you might like to read it.
Find a quiet & comfortable space where you can relax & let go of any distractions. Close your eyes, take a
deep breath in, filling your lungs with fresh air. Exhale slowly, releasing any tension or stress you may be carrying. Allow your body to settle into a comfortable position, sitting or lying down.
As we approach the summer solstice, a time when the sun shines at its brightest and the days are at their longest, let us take a moment to connect with the energy of this vibrant season. The summer solstice represents a powerful
shift in nature, a time of abundance, growth, and inner illumination. It is a time when the sun reaches its highest point in the sky, filling the world with warmth and light.
Take another deep breath in, as you exhale, imagine yourself standing in a vast field on a bright summer day. Picture the vibrant colours of blooming flowers, the tall grasses swaying gently in the breeze, and the radiant
sun beaming down upon you. Feel the warmth of the sun's rays on your skin, filling you with a sense of vitality & energy.
As you continue to breathe deeply, allow your awareness to expand beyond the physical sensations. Visualise the energy of the sun flowing into every cell of your body, rejuvenating and revitalising you from within. Feel this energy expanding, creating a glowing aura of light around you, radiating warmth
& positivity.
Bring your attention to your breath. Notice the gentle rise and fall of your chest with each inhalation & exhalation. As you breathe in, imagine you are inhaling the vibrant energy of the summer solstice. Feel it filling your entire being, bringing clarity, inspiration, & a renewed sense of purpose.
As you exhale, release any doubts,
worries, or negativity that may be weighing you down. Let go of anything that no longer serves you. With each breath, allow yourself to become more present & grounded in this moment.
Continue to breathe deeply & rhythmically, embracing the energy of the summer solstice. Feel yourself aligning with the abundance and joy that this season represents.
Take a few
moments to express gratitude for the gifts of the sun, for the light and warmth it brings to your life.
Gently bring your awareness back to the space around you. Wiggle your fingers and toes, slowly reawakening your body. When you're ready, open your eyes, carrying with you the renewed energy and sense of connection to the summer solstice.
Remember that the energy
of the summer solstice is not limited to a single day. Embrace the spirit of the solstice throughout the entire season, allowing it to inspire you, nurture your growth, & illuminate your path.
May you carry the essence of the summer solstice within you, allowing its light to guide you on your journey.
