Good morning,
Tip of the day......Why I am aiming to
do 10,000 steps a day.
With working in an office 3 days a week, I am not exercising like I use to and with being over 50 my body has changed, and my metabolism is definitely slowing down.
I am trying to do 10,000 steps a day. If I haven’t managed my steps I make sure I
practice my dance routines as I love dancing to music and don’t think of it as exercising.
1. Supports Heart Health ❤️
Regular walking helps lower blood pressure, reduce cholesterol levels, and improve circulation, all of which decrease the risk of heart
disease.
2. Aids Weight Management ⚖️
Walking burns calories, boosts metabolism, and helps maintain a healthy weight—without needing intense exercise.
3.
Improves Joint Health & Mobility 🦵
Walking is low-impact and helps keep joints lubricated, reducing stiffness and easing arthritis symptoms.
4. Boosts Mental Well-being 🧠
It reduces stress, improves mood, and enhances cognitive function—helping to prevent anxiety, depression, and even cognitive decline.
5. Strengthens Muscles & Bones 💪
Weight-bearing exercises like
walking help maintain bone density, reducing the risk of osteoporosis and fractures.
6. Enhances Longevity & Quality of Life ⏳
Studies show that people who stay active live longer and enjoy a better quality of life as they
age.
How Many Steps Do You REALLY Need?
While 10,000 is a great goal, research suggests 7,000–8,000 steps per day still offer significant health benefits. The key is staying active regularly rather than focusing on a single
number.
As long as you are moving it can be fitness classes, daily walks, or other activities, all these will help you stay healthy. 🚶♂️🚶♀️
This weekend I am at our fitness weekend so I am sure I will be doing more than 10,000 steps.😁
Let me know if any of this helps in any way 😁
As usual would love your thoughts. 😀
Have a good weekend.
Paula ❤️xx
