Good morning,
Tip of the day......🌞 Strong for summer: Boosting bone health and balance 🌿
As we head into the summer months, it's the perfect time to give our bones, balance, and bodies a boost!
Many of us look forward to longer days, outdoor walks, holidays, gardening, and playing with the grandchildren. To enjoy all of that to the fullest, it’s important we keep our strength and stability in check —
especially as we age.
That’s why this month in class, we’re focusing on “Strong for Summer” - a gentle but powerful way to:
✅ Improve your balance
✅ Strengthen your bones
✅ Build confidence with everyday movement
Why it matters:
After 50, we naturally lose a bit of muscle and bone each year. But with regular movement like Pilates, resistance bands, and hand weights, we can slow that process right down.
These exercises help protect against falls, reduce joint pain, and improve posture — so we stay active, independent, and doing the things we love!
Tips you can try at home:
- Try standing on one leg while brushing your teeth — great for ankle strength and balance.
- Take a brisk 10-minute walk in the daylight to help top up your Vitamin D and strengthen your bones.
- Roll your shoulders back and open your chest for better posture and breathing.
If you haven’t attended my class for a while now’s a great
time to get started. Small steps can make a big difference — and it’s always more fun together!
Let’s get stronger this summer 🌼
See you in class!
