Good morning,
Tip of the day.....Getting back into a routine after the summer
Getting back into a fitness routine after the summer break can feel tough, but it’s all about easing yourself in gently and rebuilding consistency. Here are some tips you could use for yourself or even share with your class members:
1. Start small and realistic
Don’t expect to jump straight back to your pre-summer routine. Begin with shorter sessions or fewer classes, and gradually build up.
2. Schedule it in
Treat your workouts like appointments. Put them in your diary or calendar so they become
non-negotiable.
3. Choose something enjoyable
If you’ve had a break, motivation can dip. Go for classes or activities you genuinely enjoy (Pilates, walking, dance fitness, light weights) to make it easier to stick with.
4. Reconnect with your “why”
Remind yourself why you exercise — whether it’s strength, flexibility, stress relief, energy, or social connection.
5. Focus on consistency, not perfection
Even 10–15 minutes of movement counts. The aim is to re-establish the habit, not chase intensity right away.
6. Set a short-term goal
This could be attending two classes a week, walking 30 minutes daily, or building back up to your usual routine by
October.
7. Be kind to yourself
Summer breaks are for rest, family, and fun — don’t feel guilty. See September as a fresh start.
