WEDNESDAY TIP OF THE DAY - DIET OR FREEDOM

Good morning and welcome to my TIP OF THE DAY. 

As my clients know I DO NOT like the word DIET. I prefer healthy lifestyle. I think as soon as you say you are on a DIET you start to put pressure on yourself as you start to focus on what you can't have rather than what changes you are making and WHY. There could be one reason or a number of reasons ie health reasons, to feel/look better, more energy, get rid of the bloating feeling etc?

In the past have you always started a 'diet' with the mentality that you will be making huge sacrifices?

I truly believe this is where so many people go wrong.

This is the 'diet mentality' and it’s nothing to do with the actual food on the plan at all!

With a diet mentality you are in a constant state of deprivation, focusing all the time on what you can’t have and totally missing the point about the wonderful things you CAN have!

You’re basically turning into a toddler in a tantrum state!

Moping about the foods and drink you can’t have when, in effect, nothing is actually stopping you from having them. 

You can physically go to the supermarket and buy crisps wine and chocolate and     just eat it, but the truth is you don’t WANT to!!!!

You want to stop eating crap.

You want to relieve the brain fog.

You want to crack the sugar addiction and you sure as hell want to feel AMAZING! 

You want better health, more energy and vibrancy.

So why put yourself through it.

Think about it for a minute.

You are torturing yourself for foods that you KNOW are no good for you and you don’t really want.

That’s nuts!!!!!

​The diet mentality is a psychological tug of war with one side saying I can’t and the other saying I want.

This simply creates the feeling of deprivation and sacrifice which will ultimately end in defeat.

Whether you succeed or not at changing your eating habits and lifestyle simply comes down to what you say to yourself on a day to day basis.

It might sound simple.

but it is…..

IF…..

you go about it the right way.

First of all you have to be ready to make the change.

The only thing that will make it hard is if you adapt the diet mentality and that tug of war starts.

It’s your choice.

You can have whatever the hell you want.

Freedom of choice- your choice and hopefully you will choose a happier healthier life.
