Weekly update for Keep Fit with Paula including PiYo & Brain Fit

Published: Mon, 04/03/17

Good morning,

I hope you had a lovely weekend. It's the start of the Easter holidays so if you are taking time off on holiday or just spending time at home I hope you have a good time. Classes are running as normal this week.

I am looking at running a 6 week PiYo class.  PiYo isn't like standard Pilates and yoga classes that make you hold long, intense poses, or lead you through dozens of repetitive, microscopic core movements. PiYo speeds everything up—including your results—by introducing you to dynamic, flowing sequences that can burn serious calories at the same time as they lengthen and tone your muscles and increase your flexibility.  With every action-packed PiYo session, you can burn excess fat and sculpt and define your whole body, as you minimise the aches and pains that can come along with high-impact workouts. No matter your age, no matter your body type, PiYo will help give you dramatically visible, incredibly beautiful results. If you are interested let me know.

Below you will find what's happening this week at Keep Fit with Paula with Angie, Lisa, and myself.

We have changed the name of Angie's class to Indoor Bootcamp as Angie does a variety of exercise programmes that are not always Circuit Training based. More info below.

If you are attending class this week and you bring a friend you can have your class free of charge or if you haven't attended any of our classes before you can have a free trial.

12 Week Health/Wellness Transformation Programme starting 20 April 2017. £137.

NEW 4 week Brain Fit Programme starts Tuesday 25 April until 16 May. Price £22.00. Brain Fit is a stress reducing positive workout utilising movement, music and meditation with powerful affirmations. 3 spaces gone.

Health/Fitness Weekend 22 - 24 Sept - spaces left.

Classes will run as usual over the Easter holidays apart from Bank Holiday Monday 17 April this affects both mine and Angie's class.

There are no classes Thursday 13 April at Norbury Church as they need the room for Maundy Thursday.

Angie is on holiday Monday 8 & 15 May.

Have a good week Paula x

Indoor Bootcamp is a form of body conditioning or resistance training using high-intensity aerobics. It targets strength building and muscular endurance.

Bootcamp is designed to build strength and fitness through a variety of intense group interval sessions.  You will become stronger, leaner and fitter.

An advantage of Bootcamp is that the large group dynamic helps and motivates each other. You will be burning body fat up to 24 hours after your workout.

Angie is a Personal Trainer and has been in the industry for 12 years and you will be getting exactly the same training as you would in a one to one session with her with the added bonus of having other people there to motivate you and help you move forward with your goals.

The class is suitable for all ages and fitness levels as Angie will give you various levels to work at so you choose the level suitable for you.  You can push yourself as hard as you want by increasing the intensity or you can work out at a more comfortable pace.

Areas you are targeting:-

  • Core:  Exercises that engages your core, ie a front plank can help you strengthen your core.
  • Arms: Use dumbbells for bicep curls or tricep extensions.
  • Glutes/Legs: Squats/lunges
  • Flexibility: Using proper technique as you work through your training will improve your flexibility.
  • Aerobic: If you move quickly through exercises you can make this a good cardiovascular workout.
  • Strength: Any exercise that involves strength training ie push-ups will make you stronger.
