Weekly update for Keep Fit with Paula

Published: Mon, 04/10/17

Good morning,

What a lovey weekend. Doesn't the lovely weather and lighter nights make such a difference.  Yesterday my youngest son was having water fights with his mates. I love it when he plays outdoors in the fresh air instead of on his X Box.

Classes are running as normal this week.

I mentioned running a 6 week PiYo class and there will be a taster session for those who would like to try it first. The date is to confirmed (looking at May) but it will be a Wednesday 6.15 pm at Norbury Church. PiYo isn't like standard Pilates and yoga classes that make you hold long, intense poses, or lead you through dozens of repetitive, microscopic core movements. PiYo speeds everything up—including your results—by introducing you to dynamic, flowing sequences that can burn serious calories at the same time as they lengthen and tone your muscles and increase your flexibility.  With every action-packed PiYo session, you can burn excess fat and sculpt and define your whole body, as you minimise the aches and pains that can come along with high-impact workouts. No matter your age, no matter your body type, PiYo will help give you dramatically visible, incredibly beautiful results. If you are interested let me know.

We have changed the name of Angie's class to Indoor Bootcamp as Angie does a variety of exercise programmes that are not always Circuit Training based.

12 Week Health/Wellness Transformation Programme starting 20 April 2017. £137. The results have been amazing and images will follow.

NEW 4 week Brain Fit Programme starts Tuesday 25 April until 16 May. Price £22.00. Brain Fit is a stress reducing positive workout utilising movement, music and meditation with powerful affirmations. 6 spaces left.

Health/Fitness Weekend 22 - 24 Sept - 1 space left

There are no classes (Pilates and Kick Start) Thursday 13 April at Norbury Church as they need the room for Maundy Thursday.  Monday 17 April is a Bank Holiday so Angie and I will not be teaching. Classes back to normal for the rest of the week.

Please note Angie is on holiday Monday 8 & 15 May. You are welcome to attend any other classes on the timetable.

If you are attending class this week and you bring a friend you can have your class free of charge or if you haven't attended any of our classes before you can have a free trial.

Have a good week Paula x

Indoor Bootcamp is a form of body conditioning or resistance training using high-intensity aerobics. It targets strength building and muscular endurance.

Bootcamp is designed to build strength and fitness through a variety of intense group interval sessions.  You will become stronger, leaner and fitter.

An advantage of Bootcamp is that the large group dynamic helps and motivates each other. You will be burning body fat up to 24 hours after your workout.

Angie is a Personal Trainer and has been in the industry for 12 years and you will be getting exactly the same training as you would in a one to one session with her with the added bonus of having other people there to motivate you and help you move forward with your goals.

The class is suitable for all ages and fitness levels as Angie will give you various levels to work at so you choose the level suitable for you.  You can push yourself as hard as you want by increasing the intensity or you can work out at a more comfortable pace.

Areas you are targeting:-

  • Core:  Exercises that engages your core, ie a front plank can help you strengthen your core.
  • Arms: Use dumbbells for bicep curls or tricep extensions.
  • Glutes/Legs: Squats/lunges
  • Flexibility: Using proper technique as you work through your training will improve your flexibility.
  • Aerobic: If you move quickly through exercises you can make this a good cardiovascular workout.
  • Strength: Any exercise that involves strength training ie push-ups will make you stronger.
