Weekly update for Keep Fit with Paula - Zumba Tues 2 May 6 pm

Published: Mon, 04/24/17

Good morning,

What a lovely weekend weather wise. I hope you managed to get out and about and enjoy the sunshine.

Classes are on as normal this week but we have another Bank Holiday on Monday 1 May so there will be no fitness classes.  If you attend Zumba on a Monday night I will be running this on Tues 2 May at 6 pm. Let me know if you are interested.

I am looking at running a taster PiYo session on 10 May Wednesday 6.15 pm at Norbury Church. PiYo isn't like standard Pilates and yoga classes that make you hold long, intense poses, or lead you through dozens of repetitive, microscopic core movements. PiYo speeds everything up—including your results—by introducing you to dynamic, flowing sequences that can burn serious calories at the same time as they lengthen and tone your muscles and increase your flexibility.  With every action-packed PiYo session, you can burn excess fat and sculpt and define your whole body, as you minimise the aches and pains that can come along with high-impact workouts. No matter your age, no matter your body type, PiYo will help give you dramatically visible, incredibly beautiful results. If you are interested let me know.

NEW CLASS - I am looking at running an early morning Indoor Bootcamp twice a week and Angie who is a Personal Trainer will be taking the class. More details to follow just working on the programme. This will be a small group - 8 people maximum.

My 12 Week Health/Wellness Transformation Programme started last Thursday and I am looking forward to working with my ladies on their weight loss journey. My next course will run on Thursday 1 June to 16 July finishing before the school holidays and this will be a 6 week course.

Unforutunately my NEW 4 week Brain Fit Programme has been cancelled. I am hoping to run it at a later date.

Health/Fitness Weekend 22 - 24 Sept - 1 space left

Please note Angie is on holiday Monday 8 & 15 May. You are welcome to attend any other classes on the timetable.

If you are attending class this week and you bring a friend you can have your class free of charge or if you haven't attended any of our classes before you can have a free trial.

Have a good week Paula x

Indoor Bootcamp is a form of body conditioning or resistance training using high-intensity aerobics. It targets strength building and muscular endurance.

Bootcamp is designed to build strength and fitness through a variety of intense group interval sessions.  You will become stronger, leaner and fitter.

An advantage of Bootcamp is that the large group dynamic helps and motivates each other. You will be burning body fat up to 24 hours after your workout.

Angie is a Personal Trainer and has been in the industry for 12 years and you will be getting exactly the same training as you would in a one to one session with her with the added bonus of having other people there to motivate you and help you move forward with your goals.

The class is suitable for all ages and fitness levels as Angie will give you various levels to work at so you choose the level suitable for you.  You can push yourself as hard as you want by increasing the intensity or you can work out at a more comfortable pace.

Areas you are targeting:-

  • Core:  Exercises that engages your core, ie a front plank can help you strengthen your core.
  • Arms: Use dumbbells for bicep curls or tricep extensions.
  • Glutes/Legs: Squats/lunges
  • Flexibility: Using proper technique as you work through your training will improve your flexibility.
  • Aerobic: If you move quickly through exercises you can make this a good cardiovascular workout.
  • Strength: Any exercise that involves strength training ie push-ups will make you stronger.
