I hear this so often "I was eating so well and then it was my birthday etc etc"
or " I was determined to come to class tonight but then etc etc" or " I was going to get up
early to do a workout at home but then...."
It is life, it happens to us all, best intentions and all that.
But when something gets in the way or goes wrong to throw us off course, it is how you deal with it that matters.
If you think well that is it then, I have gone off track so I will start again next Monday I may as well give up I have failed, why did I do that etc etc and then you
stick your head into the biscuit barrel you are going to constantly be in that cycle.
I used to be like that, if I knew I was going out for a meal I would think great starter, main course, dessert and wine. I would think well I may as well write today off and be naughty all day....or if I started well on a Monday, then by Wednesday went off track, I would think hey may as well give up till next Monday and so on......
I
always associated weekends as a treat. Why not? I work full time etc etc I deserve it so I will eat and drink what I want and by the time Monday came I felt tired and GUILTY.
And this is one of the things I started to understand when I did the 28 day programme with Kick Start. Mindset. It wasn't just about weight loss it was focusing on you as the individual. How you were feeling? What trigger was being pulled to make you do what you were doing and why? Are you an
emotional eater? If so how do you deal with it? You can, but you have to think about how you are going to achieve this and have a plan to move forward. That is why I ask my ladies to write down their goals, their focus, how they feel etc. I know I keep saying it but putting pen to paper really does help.
Now I accept that thing happened to stop me doing what I needed to do that day, but tomorrow is another day and that will be
better.
Let go of the negative "I am so rubbish at this diet and fitness thing" and think "today didn't go to plan but tomorrow is another day and that will go to plan". This is exactly what my ladies do. My ladies on my 12 week programme some followed the plan for 28 days 100% others went what I call the scenic route and are still getting great results.
In my job I am lucky enough to come into contact with lots of women
on a daily basis and we all do a marvellous job, juggling and balancing so many different things, if yesterday was not a great day for you, only you can make sure that today is a better day!
Have a great day and feel free to let me know your thoughts on your strategy when things go wrong! Send me an email or chat to me in class. You are not the only one who may feel like this lots of my ladies struggle with their
emotions.
