Good morning and welcome to my TIP OF THE DAY. 

Sugar is everywhere. 

If you are struggling YOU are not alone!

How Do I Stop Eating Sugar?

Just start one day at a time.

We know how difficult it can be to avoid sugar.... it's everywhere! 

ON everything, hidden IN all sorts of foods which would shock you! (Read those food labels!)

Sugar is
  • addictive
  • fattening
  • ageing
  • slowing you down
  • messing with your hormones
  • giving you energy crashes......
Unless you want to be a hermit, socialising & eating out can be tricky....

But not impossible!
 
When you understand what is going on in the body when you overload on sugar, it makes it so much easier to make better choices.

  • Sugar Raises Insulin
  • Insulin is a fat storing hormone
  • Studies show that 40% of sugar in take in slim healthy people is turned to fat, and 60% in larger people
  • If we eat sugar every day we won't gain a flat tummy and find weight loss is minimised.
  • Sugar takes vitamins out of our body, a body starved of vitamins makes us hungry
  • Sugary foods don't keep us full for long therefore we need to eat again.
  • Sugar is also addictive making us crave more sugary food e.g. box of chocolates versus chicken and broccoli 
  • Our hormone Leptin which tells our body if we are full is not elevated. Therefore our brain tells us to keep eating
  • High sugar in take can put us at risk of insulin resistance, diabetes, obesity and disease.

Food examples - Processed foods, cake, sweets, alcohol, low fat products, bread, rice, pasta, tinned food
