Are you getting 2-3 litres of water a day???
And to be honest if you are exercising and it is warm you need more.
So much of our body is made up of water.
We need it for our brain, our skin, our organs, the digestive system, it helps with fat loss.
So many reasons that we need to drink water.
If you are getting headaches, dry skin, low in energy, eating well but not losing weight etc.
These are all signs you are not taking on enough water.
And once you feel thirsty you have gone too long without drinking.
If you are not a fan of plain water then flavour it with cucumber, lemon or lime.
I normally have lemon or lime but I have started adding cucumber to my water and love it.
So my message today is if you know you are not drinking 2-3 litres a day then make it a challenge to set yourself....
I know the weather is warm but try and not let it put you off your exercise!
It is harder when it is warm but here are some tips to stay cool when the temperature rises outside...
1. Drink plenty of water before, during and after exercise. We sweat more when its warmer so its important to replace the lost fluids
2. Wear loose clothing. Bring a change of top if you are doing more than one session...nothing worse than being in wet sweaty clothes
3. Modify your session. Accept that it is hot. You may need to take more breaks or reduce the intensity slightly
4. If exercising outside go in the early morning or late evening. Try and avoid a run in the mid day sun
5. Keep going to your classes or whatever it is that you do...don't give up as we know that in just 2 weeks your fitness levels will start to decrease.
Follow these tips and you will be fine.
